MASS MAPLE
LEAFS ADD SOUTHEASTERN SCOUT TO THE MIX
The Mass Maple Leafs
have not only decided this season to add another team but they have
also
added another scout.. Leafs GM Tony DeSilva states” We have always
wanted to tap into
the talent pool of the Southeastern part of the States.” “ There
is plenty of players
down South being sold a bill of goods and its time we get them properly
exposed and developed.”
The Leafs motto has always been the straightforward approach for the
last 13 years and have found
a person with the same belief. The Leafs organization is very proud to
announce that Walt Hudson
has joined the scouting team. DeSilva states” We are very happy
to add Walt to our staff
he has already made an impact on our rosters this year and we look forward
to this relationship
for years to come.” Hudson is a former Head Coach of the Hampton
Roads Whalers SEJHL team
who he led to Nationals the last two years. He was also an assistant
to the original Whaler
Head Coach Brent Agrusa who is DeSilva’s good friend.. Coach Agrusa’s
states, “ It’s a perfect fit
it’s a win win situation for all involved.”
The Leafs have benefited already
from Hudson’s keen sense of talent
down South as his work
has helped land players Nate Margetts, Grant Laudrey, Alex Rivers and
Andrew Pearsall all from
North Carolina as well as Dylan Martz, Justin Leach and Allen Hudson
(Walt’s own son) from Virginia.
In a recent phone conversation “ Hudson stated “ Its all
about advancing the players to reach
the highest level as possible and down here that is not going to get
it done.” He also
went on to say “ I will talk to anyone who I think has the ability
to move on who hasn’t signed a contract.
The Leafs and Coach DeSilva has advanced tons of players to higher levels
than anyone on the East Coast.”
The Leafs are very happy to add Mr. Hudson to the Leafs organization
and is expected to reap
immediate rewards from his hard work. For more information on the Leafs
programs please go to

on both their CHA
and IJHL teams for this upcoming season. |
