MASS MAPLE LEAFS HAVE TONS OF TWISTS AND TURNS ON THEIR MIDWEST TRIP

The Leafs had tons of fun and a lot of time to bond in a 10 day 12 game road trip to start their season.
Despite having bus problems throughout the trip, the Leafs 2009-10 edition learned at least one lesson
from the trip that perseverance pays off not only on the ice but off the ice as well.

The Leafs went 5-6-1 on the trip with wins versus the Great Lakes teams Wisconsin Rampage 6-3,
Chicago Huskies 7-1, Motor City Chiefs 5-2, Michigan Mountain Cats 3-0 and Mountain Cats CHA team 6-1.
They also tied Buffalo Stars CHA in last minute of play 2-2.

The Leafs were competitive in the rest of the games and came up short versus Tri City Ice Hawks 6-5
and Michigan Mountain Cats 5-1 of the Great Lakes League a CSHL prospect team 7-5. Buffalo Stars Empire 5-1.

The Leafs also took on MNJHL Minnesota Ice Hawks and played 2 40 min periods Hawks won 1st half 6-0
and 2nd half 3-1 and also took on the NAHL Albert Lea Thunder and played 2 40 minutes 5 on 5 which was 6-0 1st half
and 3-0 2nd half. The Leafs also too on Thunder on in 40 minute PP and PK session and lost 5-2 in that session.

The Leafs were undermanned most of the trip but their hard work was noticed and mentioned by alot of people.
The Leafs returned from that trip and went onto play in the Woodchuck Tourney in VT. The Leafs lost 4-2 to
CD Selects EJ won 2-1 vs OHA and lost to Huskies Empire team 3-2.

The Leafs opened up league play with two convincing wins versus the Buffalo Stars 7-2 and 12-3 as they
begin their title defense. The Leafs have been led thus far by Karl Poss with 22 points, Eric Stelnick 21 points
and Riley Hess with 19 points. The Leafs defensive quartet is being led by Jason Alera (7 points) Rob Berg and
Eben Crandall ( 5 points each) and Bret Zimmerman with (4 points).

The Leaf net has been solid thus far with the trio oif Rob Benting (2.77 GAA) Caleb Holder (2.96 GAA) and
Matt Cray (4.00 GAA). The Leafs are still seeking some positions to be filled. For more information on the team
