LEAFS CONTINUE TO ROLL DESPITE INJURIES
The Mass Maple Leafs continue
to stay on top with a 19-2-2 record in the Eastern Conference of the
CHA.
The Leafs have overcome all kinds of obstacles thus far this season that
include major injuries
and winless month of September to now hold a 34-25-8 overall record.
The Leafs have had broken wrists, hands, ribs, torn MCLs are amongst
some of the injuries
some of the players have had to overcome.
The Leafs have even won the Paul Coffey tournament with a 6-0 record
despite missing key players
during the tournament. Coach Tony DeSilva states “this team has
been through a lot of adversity
and obstacles and has cleared them all.”
The Leafs have a very big last month of their season as they attempt
to go to Nationals
for their 6th consecutive year. The Leafs have 15 remaining league games
and have 6 games on hand
versus the Junior Bruins and 3 games in hand versus the Bay State Breakers.
Although they trail both
in points they do hold the best winning percentage in the conference
however.
The Leafs have 6 players over 50+ points and another 3 with over 30+.
The Leafs are led by Jared Mitrano
with 79 , Benny Brouillard with 77, Patrick Avery with 70, CJ Cordeiro
with 67 Ryan Merz with 63
and Andrew Mathieu with 55. Rob Berg is leading all defensemen with 43.
Boyd Zinger has been
leading the Leafs with 8 league wins to go along with his 15 overall
carrying a 3.12 GAA with a 90 save %.
The Leafs are still searching to round off their playoff roster looking
for a couple of forwards

LEAFS SEEING STARS
The Leafs were well represented at the Jan 17th CHA All Star Game in
Hooksett, NH.
There were a total of 8 Leafs selected to participate in the game and
also had 1 alternate forward as well
as the Head Coach of the Eastern Conference was Leafs Head Coach Tony
DeSilva.
The Leafs who were selected to participate in the game that went to
a 5-5 tie and the Eastern Conference
lost in the shootout were Patrick Avery (had a goal in the game), Jarred
Mitrano (who had a goal in game
and also scored in shootout), CJ Cordeiro (who had an assist), Benny
Brouillard (who had an assist)
Rob Berg (who had an assist and scored a goal in the shootout) PJ Burnham
(who had an assist),
Andrew Mathieu (who had an assist) and goalie Boyd Zinger. Ryan Merz
was the alternate forward
who did not participate in the game. |
