Mission
The Massachusetts Maple Leafs Midget AAA
Hockey Club offers split season teams for
Elite players at the U18 and U16 level.
The program is designed to raise the level of
the players involved and prepare them for
their upcoming high school hocley seasons. |
Coaching
Staff
Tony DeSilva
Mass Maple Leafs Head Coach and General Manager,
DeSilva has extensive experience
in high level hockey.
He has owned/coached the Maple Leafs Junior Hockey team
since its inception in 1997-98. Over the course of
the last 13 seasons,
DeSilva has accrued over 500 wins,
six league championships, and
six Junior National Championship
appearances, with three of those resulting
in Championships.
His most important number is the more than 150 players
that he has advanced to a higher level of hockey with his program.
Tony DeSilva has recruited and scouted for several
North American Hockey League Teams (Tier 2 Junior A) and,
currently, is the head recruiter for Becker College (NCAA Division III).

Kris Metea
An alumnus of DeSilva’s junior hockey program, Metea played his collegiate
hockey
at Worcester State College where he was a defenseman. After completion of his
career
in the Maple Leaf Red and Black, Metea continued as an Assistant Coach with
the program.
With the Leafs, Metea has participated in three Junior National Tournaments,
helping DeSilva win in 2008-09. Metea’s hockey experience includes working
at
the Kenai River Brown Bears Main Camp, which included evaluation and assistance
of choosing elite players for the North American Hockey League Team. In addition
to
his junior hockey experience, Metea has run several power skating and skills
clinics
at the youth and high school level in the Southeast Mass area. |
Tryout Information
When:
16U Dates: March 13 and 22
18U Dates: March 15 and 20
Where:
CDL Arena, Raynham, MA
Cost: $50 for both sessions
(2.5 hours plus evaluation)
Walk-ons: $60
Space is limited:
44 skaters, 6 goalies for each level
