Karl Poss – ’92 Has a Bright Future
with Maple Leafs
Seven members of the Mass Maple Leafs Junior
B Hockey Club have been selected
to represent the Continental Hockey Association during All-Star Weekend.
Forwards Eric Stelnick, Riley Hess, and Karl Poss, Defensemen Rob Berg
and Jay Alera,
Goaltender Matt Cray, and Head Coach/GM Tony DeSilva will represent the
Leafs
and the CHA as they join fellow league all-stars to take on the
Great Lakes Junior B All-Star team.
The Mass Maple Leafs, under leadership of Head Coach Tony DeSilva,
have gone into the all-star break with a 39-21-2 overall record,
and a 21-2-0-1 (43 points) in CHA league play. On the ice, the Leafs have been
back-stopped by Matt Cray who has a 20-8-1 record (12-1 CHA).
He has a 2.74 GAA and 90 Save Percentage. Protecting Cray in front of the Net
has been Rob Berg and Jay Alera. Although they have been defensive stalwarts,
they have impressed offensively accruing 22-23-45, and 10-26-36 numbers respectively.
The Leafs three top scorers will look to impress upon the Great Lakes defense.
Eric Stelnick (108 points), Karl Poss (77 points), and Riley Hess (66 points)
each find themselves in the top 6 in league scoring despite playing a lesser
amount
of games than others on the list.
The Continental Hockey Association All-Star Team will take on
the Great Lakes Junior B All-Star game twice this weekend. The first game will
take place Sunday, January 17th 3:55pm and again on Monday, January 18th 11:10am.
