Mass Maple Leafs on Top at the Holidays

The Mass Maple Leafs heading into the Holidays in first place of the ESHL
with a 16-2-2 record that to go along with a 31-13-4 overall record.
The Leafs have a slim lead over the Junior Bruins of 1 point
and leads 3rd place New Hampshire Junior Monarchs by 4 points.

The Leafs now have a break from league play until Jan 14th
when they attend a league showcase in Philadelphia. However, the Leafs break
from the holidays end the day after Christmas when they travel to Ontario
to play 4 exhibition games versus OMHA teams from the December 27-30th.
The Leafs then start the New Year off in the Eastern Junior Showcase in Marlboro, MA
playing two Empire teams Frederick Freeze and New England Junior Huskies
along with MET entry Suffolk PAL.

The Leafs made some news by trading the ESHL leading scorer Hagen Nemzek
to the Great Falls Americans in the America West League. Coach DeSilva when questioned
stated, “Hagen has a chance to star over and try to be a leader on a team
that has been struggling. I think it will be a great opportunity for him. We wish him the best.”

The Leafs have six players with 30 or more points led by Joey Fernandes
with 80 points with 53 goals. Adam McGrath is 2nd in goals with 30 and 3rd in scoring with 59.
CJ Cordeiro leads team in assists with 50 and in 2nd in scoring with 70 points.
Ryan Fehnel has 57 points followed by linemate Keanen Romero with 38 points
and Trevor McClary with 30 points.

The Leafs defense is being led by Kyle Gasior with 29 points followed by Sam Jenkins
with 20 points and Rick Loveless with 16 points Michael Owen has 10 points is finally healthy
back on the blue line as he has been playing hurt all season is starting to make an impact.

The Leafs tenders are on top of the ESHL leader board with Donald Hesse
with an overall 3.63 GAA 89 save % with a 5-0-2 league record and Cody Stocker
who has an overall 2.63 GAA and a 91 save% with a 5-2 league record. Austin Miller is undefeated
in league play with a 5-0 record and overall has a 3.18 GAA and an 88 save %.

The Leafs are still seeking a couple of forwards and defensemen for

LEAFS SEEING STARS

The Mass Maple Leafs would like to announce that five members have made
the ESHL All star team for the 2011-2012 season. Leafs forwards Adam McGrath, Marc Frey,
CJ Cordeiro and Joey Fernandes have all made the team that will be playing versus
the Empire South entry, Empire West entry and Empire East entry. These three games
will take place in Hooksett, NH on January 15th and 16th. Joining the Leafs forwards
will be goalie Cody Stocker. The ESHL All Star team will be coached by Leafs Head Coach Tony DeSilva.
