MASS MAPLE LEAFS ON CRUISE CONTROL AS MID SEASON APPROACHES

The 2007-08 edition of the Mass Maple Leafs have a few things to prove to many people
throughout the country.

The 1st on their list is to the USA Hockey Junior Council.  The Leafs objective is to have Junior
Council reconsider the Tier structure as it currently stands.  The Leafs have made a valid point in
their argument that the current Tier structure needs to be looked at.  As it stands now the Tier
structure is not based on talent at all but only money.  The Leafs are deemed Tier 3 Junior C this
season by Junior Council but currently have a 7-7-1 record versus Junior “A” competition along
with a decisive win versus Syracuse Stars of the Empire Junior B League.

The 2nd on the list is the Continental Hockey Association.  The Leafs have rolled to a 13-0
record thus far in league play and have outscored their opponents 112-19. The Leafs currently
sit on top of the Northern Division one game ahead of the Pittsburgh Junior Penguins.  The Leafs
boast some of the top players in every league category that include scoring and goaltending.

Lastly the Leafs have something to prove not only to the rest of the Junior teams in the country.
The Leafs are out to prove that they are a bonafide Junior team that despite the letter C next to
their name that they can compete with any team out there.  The Leafs roster boasts a solid core
of potential collegiate candidates.

The Leafs current overall record is 21-16-1.  That record includes games versus Junior A, B
and C Leagues in the US as well as Canadian Junior B teams as well.

The Leafs have several big tests coming up during the holiday seasons with two Canadian
tournaments (Gardner Cup Challenge and the Paul Coffey Tournament).

The Leafs are being led offensively by Ronnie Paiva with 87 points, fellow line mates Justin
Howarth with 63 points and Ilester Little with 47 points.  Matt Whitehouse and Mike Rizzitano
round out the top five in scoring both have 41 points.  The defense is being led by Eric Anderson
with 19 points followed by William Dukeman with 17 points and Nick Smola with 15 points.  The
Leafs are backboned with the tandem of Paul Karus and Gerard Dunne between the pipes.  Both
Karus and Dunne are among the league leaders with GAA of less than 1.50 and both have earned
9 wins on the season thus far.

The Leafs are expecting to have at least 10 players that will be moving onto the collegiate ranks
next season.  Several players are to make their decisions shortly.

The 2007-08 edition are on a mission and currently have it in high gear with a 19-2 record over
their last 21 games as the approach of the midseason approaches.
