Mass Maple Leafs plan on a Major Event to kick off their home opener>
The Mass Maple Leafs are planning some major events to start their 2008-2009 season. The 2008-
09 season will be the 11th season for the Mass Maple Leafs.
The Mass Maple Leafs home opener will not be like their previous 10 home openers. This will be a
very special weekend for all participants involved.
The weekend will start out with a dinner featuring all current and past Leafs on September 12th.
The Leafs then have joined up with their “little brothers” from Buffalo the Buffalo Stars for a series of
exhibition games. The day will start out with the baby Stars Bantam Minor team taking on the
NECDL Bantams. The C Stars from the CHA will take on the Leafs High School Development
team. The Leaf Alumni will take the ice pitting the first five years versus the last five years.
Immediately following the Alumni game the alumni will help crowning the National Champion Leafs
with a Banner and ring ceremony. The evening will conclude with Empire Buffalo Stars taking on the
Leafs B team.
On Sunday, the Bantams, both Stars teams and Leafs teams take to the ice again for the 2nd game
of the two game series between all the parties involved.
This is expected to be a very special weekend with many events taking place during as well as
raffles, small games and prizes. Stay tuned for more information on the Leafs website www.
massmapleleafs.com.
The Leafs teams will then conclude the weekend with a pair of games versus the Stars teams on
Sunday to cap off what is expected to be a very memorable weekend.
The Leafs would like to thank Pete Preteroti and his Buffalo Stars to coming down and agreeing to
be part of this historic event.
The Leafs are seeking volunteers to assist on this monumental weekend and ask that all alumni
contact Tony DeSilva via email at hockbase@aol.com.
