10th Season >
MASS MAPLE LEAFS JUNIOR HOCKEY CLUB HAVE CHANGES IN THEIR 10TH SEASON
The Mass Maple Leafs Junior Hockey Club would like to announce for their 10th season that they
will have a few changes for the upcoming 2007-08 season. The one thing that will not change is
for the 7th season they will have two teams. One team will be a full season team and the other
will be a split season team.
The full season team will be coached by Tony DeSilva as he has done since the programs
inception. However, the team will now be called Major Selects College Development Team which
was formerly called Premier. The split season team formerly called Selects will now be called
Junior Leafs High School Development Team.
The College Development team has posted their current schedule which boast 74 games
currently along with participation of 5-7 high profile tournaments. Coach DeSilva plans to add
another 6 games or so of College JV and or prep schools to the already enriched schedule.
Coach DeSilva states “This is by far the most difficult schedule we have ever played.” This team
will be making their 2nd annual Midwest trip that will include stops in Detroit as well this
upcoming season. This team currently has approximately 15 spots available for this coming
season.
The Leafs are proud to have over 10 players that moved on to the next level from last seasons
teams. Coach DeSilva states “We are hoping with the name change we will have even more
players than ever before focused at the task at hand.”
The High School Development team will play approximately 40 game schedule. They will
participate in 2-3 high profile tournaments. This team unlike in the past will not have a lot of
travel. We are expecting 2 maybe 3 road trips for this team compared to the 6-8 it used to have.
This team has approximately 20 openings and is currently seeking a coach for upcoming
season.
Both teams will be having their Main Camp tryouts coming up June 23rd and 24th at CDL Arena
in Raynham. For more information on the teams, tryouts or coaching positions please contact
Tony DeSilva at 508-992-8590 or hockbase@aol.com. Tryout applications are available at www.
