MASS MAPLE LEAFS JUNIOR HOCKEY CLUB ARE GOING TO NATIONALS FOR 2ND YEAR IN A ROW

 The Mass Maple Leafs won their 3rd consecutive Continental Hockey Association Selects
Division Regular Season Championship.  The Leafs with this accomplishment receives an
automatic berth to the National Championships held in Marlboro, MA March 25th-29th.  

 The Leafs clinched first place this past weekend with a sweep of the 2nd place Pittsburgh
Junior Penguins by the scores of 10-1 and 13-1.  The Leafs improved their league record to 33-1
and overall record to 50-22-2.  This years’ edition becomes the third team in their history to
reach the 50 win plateau in a season.

 The Leafs are being led by five players that have reached the 100 point plateau.  That group is
being led by Ronnie Paiva with 169 points, followed by Justin Howarth with 133 points, Mike
Rizzitano with 120 points, Ilester Little with 112 points and Matthew Whitehouse with 101 points.

 The Leafs have their last home stand this weekend at the Hetland Arena versus the Virginia
Express on Saturday at 830pm and Sunday at 9am.

 The Leafs have a couple of announcements they would like to make.  The first they would like to
congratulate former Leaf Andrew Medeiros for breaking former Leafs player Matthew Sylvia at
New Bedford High School.  The Leafs will be announcing their tryouts for next season this week
on their website at www.massmapleleafs.com.  The Leafs will have two teams next year a full
season Junior B team and a split season high school development team.
